Looking for the best gluten-free brunch spots in New York City? Well, you’re in luck! NYC is one of the best places to find celiac-safe, dedicated gluten-free restaurants.
Whether you’re a local or just visiting, there are numerous restaurants and cafes in NYC that cater to the gluten-free crowd. From fluffy pancakes to savory omelets and everything in between, you won’t have to compromise on taste or listen to your non-gluten-free friends complain about eating gluten-free.
We’ll guide you through our personal favorite dedicated gluten-free brunch spots.
1. Senza Gluten by Jemiko
Restaurant: Midtown, Cafe: West Village
Senza Gluten has two locations and both are dedicated gluten-free. One is a restaurant location, and one is a cafe location, both with indoor and outdoor seating.
With a mix of savory and sweet, as well as favorite Italian dishes like lasagna, it really is a gluten-free paradise. We’ve never had such fluffy gluten-free pancakes!
Our Favorite Dishes:
- Eggs Benedict
- Buttermilk Pancakes
- French Toast
2. Wild NYC
West Village & Park Slope
** Brunch is served on weekends only
Wild is dedicated gluten-free with a number of vegan and vegetarian options. Both of their locations have indoor and outdoor seating and have slightly different menus.
The menu is primarily savory options, but you won’t be disappointed by their breakfast pizza or eggs benedict.
Our Favorite Dishes:
- Avocado Benedict
- Poached Truffle White Pizza
3.Thyme and Tonic
Upper West Side
*Brunch on Sundays only, Reservation recommended
Not only is Thyme and Tonic dedicated gluten-free and certified Kosher, it’s perfect for vegetarians, vegans, and dairy-free folks. They have indoor and outdoor dining options.
Most of the menu is savory, with many egg or just egg (v) dishes.
Our favorite dishes:

- Coconut Pancakes
- Rise n Shine Sandwich with Latke Tots
4. Modern Bread and Bagel
Upper West Side, West Village, and Upper East Side
*UWS location closed on Saturdays
While not a sit-down Brunch spot like the others, Modern Bread and Bagel is known for having the best gluten-free bagels… well anywhere, so I’d be remiss if I didn’t include them in this list.
They are dedicated gluten-free and Kosher and have two NYC locations. Their West Village location has indoor seating, while their Upper West Side location has outdoor seating – or just a quick walk to Central Park where you can eat your bagel and people watch.
Modern Bread and Bagel has a huge menu with both sweet and savory options, as well as bakery treats. They have vegetarian, vegan, and dairy-free options.
Our Favorite Dishes:
- Bacon (V), Egg, & Cheese on an Everything Bagel
- Coconut French Toast Sticks
- Cinnamon Roll
5. Friedman’s* (*Not Dedicated Gluten-Free)
7 Locations throughout Manhattan
Friedman’s Restaurant, while not dedicated gluten-free, has an almost entirely gluten-free menu and takes precautions when it comes to cross-contamination. However, please always use your best judgement and take precautions when dining at any non-dedicated gluten-free restaurant.
Friedman’s is one of our favorite spots in the city for those comfort classics, and super kid-friendly as well, as we think it can please even the pickiest eater.
Our favorite dishes:
- Fried Chicken & Cheddar Waffle
- Banana Bread
- Lemon Ricotta Pancakes
